Getting Started

Prerequisites

If you haven't already, follow the initial steps of the Getting Started guide:

  1. Install Meltano
  2. Create your Meltano project

Installation and configuration

  1. Add the tap-powerbi-metadata extractor to your project using
    meltano add
    :
  2. meltano add extractor tap-powerbi-metadata
  3. Configure the tap-powerbi-metadata settings using
    meltano config
    :
  4. meltano config tap-powerbi-metadata set --interactive
  5. Test that extractor settings are valid using
    meltano config
    :
  6. meltano config tap-powerbi-metadata test

Client ID (client_id)

  • Environment variable: TAP_POWERBI_METADATA_CLIENT_ID

The unique client ID for the Power BI tenant.


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

meltano config tap-powerbi-metadata set client_id [value]

Password (password)

  • Environment variable: TAP_POWERBI_METADATA_PASSWORD

Password to use in the auth flow.


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

meltano config tap-powerbi-metadata set password [value]

Start Date (start_date)

  • Environment variable: TAP_POWERBI_METADATA_START_DATE

Determines how much historical data will be extracted. Please be aware that the larger the time period and amount of data, the longer the initial extraction can be expected to take.


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

meltano config tap-powerbi-metadata set start_date [value]

Tenant ID (tenant_id)

  • Environment variable: TAP_POWERBI_METADATA_TENANT_ID

The unique identifier for the Power BI tenant.


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

meltano config tap-powerbi-metadata set tenant_id [value]

Username (username)

  • Environment variable: TAP_POWERBI_METADATA_USERNAME

Username to use in the flow.


Configure this setting directly using the following Meltano command:

meltano config tap-powerbi-metadata set username [value]
